Is there any way to get the DMV handbook other than going to the DMV?

I have to take my permit test, but I was wondering if you can download the DMV book online or get it from any local store other than the DMV? Its just that the DMV is so damn impossible with its hours by closing early and not being open on weekends so I was wondering if thats possible.

But most likely with my luck, the book is probably only available at my local DMV huh....

Thank you!|||The CA handbook is available onlike. So I'd conduct a google search for your state's DMV website.|||Order it from the DMV's website.|||I'm pretty sure you can find it there, go to your state/city dmv on the net, you may want to do a search by your state and dmv. You can find a lot of information there, including practice tests.

Good Luck!|||depends on where you live. some states have downloadable copies online. do a search on dmv + your state. Good luck.|||Depending on the state, it may be online. I think you need to provide some information as to the state for which you're wanting to get your license.|||Depends on your state. Check and see if they have a website, and if they have it on the website.

Another thing you can try is send them a stamped, self-addressed envelope (with enough stamps for the handbook, and the envelope should be big enough, too). I'd call them first -- they should be in the blue government pages.

A Triple-A (American Automobile Association) branch may have copies of the DMV handbook to pass out, and so might local high schools. You can give them a call and see if you can track it down.

Good luck!|||Actually the Dept. of Licensing is open in Washington State, Tues. thru Sat. , from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, and you may obtain, and or study, the "Drivers Examination Handbook" at your local library. I don't know what state you are in, but generally in any reference need, the library is always a good choice, and you can always call your local library , just to see if they do have one, and if so , ask them to reserve it for you. Good Luck!!

PS.. A second option is ALWAYS..... If YOU dont want to do it, ask your best friend. After all, thats what friends are for, right? Especially those holding the title : "Best Friend" !! LOL !!|||Check the DMV website for your state.
