Can I rent a car from the DMV for the road test?

hi! i live in charlotte, north carolina and my mom have a car but it is too big for me to drive so i was wondering if i can rent a car from the DMV. I heard that they let you rent the car in hours.|||http://www.ncdot.org/DMV/driver_services鈥?/a> 6

No, the department of motor vehicles does not rent cars. And the car rental agencies that do rent cars won't rent one to someone with only a learners permit to take a driving test. You can go to a driving school and "rent" a car and instructor who will drive you to take your test for a price.

If your mom's car is too big for you to drive, what have you been learning to drive in? That would be the ideal vehicle to take the test in since you are familiar with it. If you get into a strange car, rental or not, you stand a very good chance of not passing because you won't be familiar with the car.|||you must supply your own vehicle for the road test, it has to have all lights working and be road legal, such as non-bald tires and such.. you cannot rent a car until your 25 so that is out of the question and the DMV doesn't supply cars.. ask a friend or neighbor if you can borrow their car for the test.. otherwise use you moms car, just practice driving it as often as possible till the test.. it will only be a couple minutes, you can do it|||Take the car for driving test on which you learned driving. The reason you are familiar with every thing and you will be confident. Otherwise you will be nervous and you may flunk the test.|||I have never heard of any DMV renting out cars but the best way to find out is to call them
